Rand Aid’s Inyoni Creek retirement village residents have again broken their own record for the number of squares knitted to support non-profit organisation 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day.
Last year, the retirement village’s dedicated knitters donated 1 966 squares to the organisation to make blankets for those in need. This year, they have gone above and beyond, donating an impressive 2 375 squares!
“Today, we met at the clubhouse and enjoyed hot chocolate, muffins, cakes and sandwiches provided by Malcolm David from 67 Blankets for Mandela Day,” says Inyoni Creek manager Jenny Tonkin.
“Even though many residents donated their own wool, this achievement would not have been possible without the kind generosity of 67 Blankets, which also donated wool to our village,” she adds.
