For decades, Rand Aid Association has been helping Elders in need and men living with substance addictions.

Sadly, many of the vulnerable older people to whom we give shelter, receive only a government grant. This means they are unable to buy daily essentials such as toiletries, or to replace their clothes and shoes when they become worn. Little treats that add richness to life are out of their reach.

In some cases, Elders have been abandoned by their families and receive no outside support or gestures that show someone cares. Finding the means to pay for essential things like an eye test and pair of spectacles may appear insurmountable.

Those who have had a loved one battling the demons of substance addition will know that the path to sobriety is a difficult one. The holistic treatment offered by our SANCA rehab centre, Wedge Gardens, enables those in recovery to begin to live a meaningful life. Staying relevant, adapting to new abuse trends and offering the multi-pronged professional approach we are known for takes considerable resources, however. Many arrive on our doorstep having depleted their finances, which makes our job of preparing them to retake their place in society much harder.

Rand Aid Association is a registered non-profit organisation (Reg number: 000 605 NPO) with a solid reputation of good governance and decades of experience. Rand Aid has Section 18A status in terms of the Income Tax Act, so all donations are tax deductible.

We have a number of donation channels in place to cater for those who want to make a once-off donation of money or goods and for individuals or corporates who wish to support us on an ongoing basis:

DONATE GOODS

Many of the elderly would appreciate your contribution to help meet their basic needs. Gifts of grocery hampers, stationery, care packages of toiletries and treats and clothing vouchers will be gratefully received. A  donation of any  type of goods would be welcomed and utilised.

ONCE-OFF FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION

A once-off monetary contribution may be made via direct deposit. These may be general donations to help facilitate the work we do, or donations made with the proviso that the money is directed to fill the need of an individual resident or goes towards a project, such as kitting out a games room.

MONTHLY STOP ORDER

A monthly donation through stop order will enable us to factor your contribution into our financial planning, ensure your money is effectively used to enhance the lives of those in our care and enable us to continue to provide professional care to people wanting to transform their lives.

MY VILLAGE

By applying for a MyVillage card and registering Thembalami (for the elderly) or Wedge Gardens (substance abuse), you will help us raise valuable funds for a deserving cause without costing you, the cardholder, a cent. Simply get a MyVillage card. Every swipe at one of thousands of retail partners provides a contribution to your chosen cause. MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet is one of SA’s biggest fundraising programmes.
