A little friendly competition goes a long way! Board games and group activities are a cornerstone of Ron Smith Care Centre’s (RSCC) occupational therapy programme. These moments foster social interaction, cognitive stimulation and, most importantly, a lot of laughter.
In line with Rand Aid’s HEARTS campaign, these interactions are built on respect, trust and sensitivity. “We believe every resident deserves an environment that is inclusive and adaptable to their personal preferences, ensuring they remain an active part of our community life,” says RSCC occupational therapist Karabo Makgopela.
“The joy of a shared game is a powerful tool for emotional well-being. It’s about dignity, connection and the simple pleasure of a morning spent together.”
