Thembalami residents enjoy some Christmas cheer

Residents from Rand Aid’s Thembalami Care Centre and the Max Ordman Deaf Association enjoyed some Christmas cheer when Dale Parrish, Shirley Duncan and Sonya van Es from Lakeside Village visited them on 21 December.

Each resident received a ‘surprise’ gift bag that included a book, biscuits, a bar of soap and cream.

“Our residents were thrilled to be spoilt like this and appreciated the gesture very much,” says Elize Raath, Thembalami Care Centre’s deputy manager.

“We had a Christmas in July collection in our estate, Lakeside Village in Modderfontein, and were delighted to gift the items that were collected to the elders at Thembalami Care Centre,” says Dale.

The residents also received donations from Jawitz Estate Agency in Midrand.
