The Gentlemen Only Ladies Forbidden (GOLF) social group at Rand Aid’s Inyoni Creek retirement village held its last event of the year recently, and as always, it was a sizzling affair.
The bring and braai (fondly called Vlam en Vleis) evening at the clubhouse was well attended and enjoyed to the full. Clive Cubitt, assisted by Gordon Roberts, ensured the coals were hot and plentiful, while Inyoni staff member Merlin Thape ably assisted with the venue set-up.
“Merlin handles and sets up for all our events at the clubhouse. Plus, she delivers meals to residents and transports them in the village golf cart to visit the on-site health professionals when necessary. She is an absolute asset,” says village manager Jenny Tonkin.
