Rand Aid recognises decades of dedication at annual awards

Thornhill Manor’s deputy manager, Jackie Scott, was recognised for 25 years of service at Rand Aid Association’s long service awards on August 19. The Tarentaal village hall was filled with cheer as 38 people received awards for five, 10, 15 and 25 years of dedicated service.

“An organisation’s success hinges on its people, and the annual awards are a testament to the invaluable contributions of Rand Aid’s employees,” says Rand Aid’s GM of HR and care, Ayanda Matthews.

Jackie’s journey with Rand Aid began just before Christmas in 2000, when she started as a personal assistant to the executive director at the head office. Within three years, she moved to Thornhill Manor as the deputy administrator, where she played a key role in the village’s development. After four years, she was promoted to deputy manager.

According to Ayanda, Jackie is renowned for her exceptional people skills and her deep connection to the Thornhill community. “She knows the residents, the staff, her colleagues – and everything else there is to know about the village. We hear her, we see her.”
