Bright blue bags that were handed to selected Tarentaal residents were as filled with festive cheer as they were with treats.
On December 1, 40 beautifully packed goodie bags were delivered to Tarentaal retirement village, generously donated by residents of Inyoni Creek retirement village. “We had the pleasure of handing them out personally, and the response was truly touching,” said Tarentaal manager Tammy Neilson. “There were words of thanks, warm smiles, tears of appreciation and heartfelt hugs shared throughout Tarentaal. Moments like these are proof of the Rand Aid Way and remind us how powerful kindness and community truly are.”
The contents of the festive bags included toiletries, pantry items, crisps, sweets, biscuits, chocolates, and, best of all, a little Christmas cake made especially for each bag.
Jenny Tonkin, manager of Inyoni Creek, explained how the initiative came together: “At our last residents’ meeting in September, residents asked if we could do a collection for our neighbours at Tarentaal, as we had done the previous year. Residents Peter and Shirley Moore volunteered to appeal to our residents via the news bulletin. Our Inyoni staff then packed the parcels and delivered them to Tarentaal.”
Tammy Neilson expressed gratitude to Inyoni Creek: “A sincere thank you to Inyoni Creek for making our residents feel so loved and remembered. Your generosity brought joy to many hearts.”
