Cheer brought to children with special needs

Thembalami Care Centre visited the children at Sithandiwe Special Needs School in Alexandra on July 17 for Mandela Day.

The care centre’s occupational therapy (OT) department staff members and 10 residents spent 67 minutes colouring in and playing ball games with the physically abled children.

When the Thembalami visitors arrived, the children with cerebral palsy were being fed their lunch. Bibs that had been made by Thembalami’s laundry supervisor Jane Mogwale, with assistance from resident Joanne Weyerman Noble, were handed over and the tea and biscuits that had been taken along were enjoyed.
