Wors braai and games a sizzling start to the new year

Residents and staff at the Thembalami and Max Ordman Deaf Association (MODA) care centres welcomed the new year with a sizzling braai and games morning on Friday, January 17. The event provided a fun and interactive experience for everyone involved.

A variety of games were enjoyed throughout the morning, including Rummikub, Snakes and Ladders, a blindfold game, Carrom (a finger snooker-like game) and ball tossing.

The occupational therapy (OT) department played a key role in organising the activities.

“The OT department team grouped the residents according to their cognitive abilities,” explained OT assistant Shirley Sibeko. OT and nursing staff were on hand to assist with all the activities, ensuring everyone could participate and enjoy the day.

The event was a resounding success, with residents having a great time. Pictures were taken throughout the morning to capture the joyful moments. The braai and games morning proved to be a fantastic way to kick off the new year for the Thembalami and MODA care centre community.
