Wedge bids a fond farewell to Hlumela Anderson as she joins Elphin Lodge

With both pride and a touch of sadness, SANCA Wedge Gardens bids farewell to Hlumela Anderson, whose dedication and compassion have left an indelible mark on the substance use treatment centre over the past 13 years.

Hlumela’s career at Wedge Gardens began in 2011 as an administrative clerk, where she adeptly handled medical aid claims and accounts. But her true calling lay in helping others, and she pursued it with unwavering determination – first excelling as a top graduate in social auxiliary work, then earning her BA in Psychology cum laude.

Her commitment to holistic care led her to further qualify as a wellness counsellor through the esteemed Humanitas course last year.

“Hlumela’s exceptional skills, warmth and dedication made her an invaluable therapist at Wedge Gardens,” says manager Adèl Grobbelaar.

“Now, as she takes on the role of deputy manager at Rand Aid’s Elphin Lodge retirement village, we know she will continue to inspire and uplift those in her care. While we will deeply miss her, we are incredibly proud of her achievements and excited to see her flourish in this new chapter.

“Wishing you every success, Hlumela – Elphin Lodge is lucky to have you!”
