“We’ve got spirit, yes we do!” The residents of Tarentaal Retirement Village had every right to make this claim after 28 of them put in the effort to create colourful bonnets for their annual Easter tea on April 22.
The impressive turnout reflected more than just creativity – it showcased the village’s vibrant sense of community and fun. From whimsical designs to funny hats, the residents’ enthusiasm and camaraderie were on full display.
“The tea was very well attended, creating a warm and lively atmosphere. Attendees enjoyed a spread of cakes and sandwiches. It was a memorable afternoon filled with laughter, good company and seasonal celebration,” says village manager Tammy Neilson.
“And,” she adds, “the spirit of the season was on full display, with the many bonnets breaking the ice and giving residents a shared talking point.”
