Inyoni Creek retirement village welcomed spring on September 1 with a walk through the beautiful grounds and the planting of a tree to celebrate National Arbour Week.
The walkers gathered in the swimming pool area – some kitted out in spring-themed outfits or hats. The 3km circular route included parts of neighbouring Tarentaal retirement village.
At the finish line, juice and muffins were served, while residents and staff spent time catching up and enjoying the glorious spring weather.
“It was a lively, sociable event. After our refreshments, we all made our way over to where the tree was to be planted and watched as what is destined to become a lovely shady spot took root,” says village manager Jenny Tonkin.
As in previous years, Servest donated and planted the tree.
