Thornhill gets festive for Easter

Rand Aid’s Thornhill Manor retirement village recently held its first Easter market in two years, due to Covid-19.

“Our residents were thrilled when we announced that we were going to have an Easter market again,” says Jackie Scott, Thornhill Manor’s deputy manager.

“The community centre was constantly buzzing, with shoppers enjoying their time browsing and purchasing items for their friends and family, especially their grandchildren,” she adds.

Eleven residents had stalls, each making their own items to sell, including re-cycled cards for all occasions; sewing and needle craft, all geared for Easter; cakes, biscuits and savouries; self-photographed calendars; and decoupage to name a few. Everyone also brought a plate of eats.

Shoppers thoroughly enjoyed their Easter shopping and the delicious eats!
