Sue lets the needles fly for Mandela Day

Long-time Inyoni Creek resident Sue van der Neut cast out a challenge to her fellow residents recently – knit 67 squares each for Mandela Day. The residents of the Lyndhurst-based Rand Aid retirement village accepted and 1 529 squares were the end result. These were handed to 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day to be made into blankets for people needing assistance in keeping the winter chill away. Pictured is Sue, who personally made 212 squares.

Inyoni Creek employees Johanna Lebisi and Marinda Looyen (deputy manager) count the squares.
