Help raise funds for Thornhill Manor’s and Thembalami Care Centre’s occupational therapy departments by supporting the fun walk in recognition of World Alzheimer’s Day.
World Alzheimer’s Day is commemorated annually on 21 September to raise awareness about the disease, dementia, common symptoms and risk factors.
This year, Rand Aid’s Thornhill Manor retirement village and Thembalami Care Centre are hosting a fun walk, in recognition of World Alzheimer’s Day, to raise funds for their occupational therapy departments.
The walk will take place on 22 September from 10am to 12pm, starting from Thornhill Manor’s hall.
Residents are being encouraged to take part and get their friends and family to sponsor them for the walk. The resident who brings in the most sponsorships will have their photograph taken and placed in a beautiful frame that’s contained in a hamper filled with lots of other goodies.
Residents’ family, friends and pets are all welcome to join the walk and have fun! The event is however not open to the general public.
There are three walking routes to choose from – 0.65km, 0.82km and 1.05km. Sign up for the walk at Thornhill Manor’s reception
