Bright blue gazebos, sun hats, good food and the sound of traditional dancing set the scene as Tarentaal Village residents came together for their annual Heritage Day braai on September 25.
Residents gathered around tables to enjoy wors rolls and cold drinks while catching up with friends and neighbours in the warm weather.
Tarentaal’s general assistants added to the celebrations in colourful traditional clothing. They performed a selection of traditional dances, earning applause from the crowd.
A contingent from Rand Aid head office also joined the celebrations, mingling with Tarentaal residents and staff.
The festivities ended on a sweet note, with everyone treated to an ice cream.
“It is always wonderful to celebrate our diversity as a village,” says Tarentaal deputy manager Lynn Barrow.
