A touch of London theatre for Rand Aid residents

Masquerade masks and formal wear added authenticity and glamour to the Phantom of the Opera evening held at Inyoni Creek Retirement Village on November 25.

Organised by resident Graeme Scott, the show was held at the village’s waterfront clubhouse.

Around 80 guests from all the Rand Aid villages enjoyed the chance to dress up and watch a big screen recording of the live stage show that was performed at the Royal Albert Hall in London in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Phantom of the Opera. The show ended with producers Andrew Lloyd Webber and Cameron Mackintosh joining the cast, Sarah Brightman, and the Phantoms of the previous 25 years, on stage.

“Our residents were enthralled with the show and the quality of the production,” says Graeme.

Masks were available at the clubhouse for residents who did not dress up.

Early next year, Graeme will be doing a Les Miserables evening at the clubhouse.

All dressed up… Leon and Fransie du Preez of Inyoni Creek village.
