High tea, higher hopes: Thornhill Manor raises funds for cancer

Residents of Thornhill Manor proved that a simple cup of tea can make a significant difference, coming together on April 30 to support children battling cancer.

The village hosted a morning tea that saw a wonderful turnout of 41 residents. The event successfully raised R3 000 for the Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa (CHOC), combining community spirit with a vital cause.

A sense of warmth and elegance defined the morning. Tables were adorned with floral arrangements kindly donated by resident Dawn Burls, which added a special touch. As always, the highlight for many was the catering; the tea ladies provided a beautiful variety of delicious eats, all lovingly prepared for the occasion.

“We are so grateful for the community’s support,” says Christine Human, deputy village manager.

The funds raised will go directly toward CHOC’s mission of providing comprehensive support to children with cancer and their families, ensuring that the generosity shown at Thornhill Manor reaches those who need it most.
