The Gregg Mitchley Foundation again reached out to Thembalami Care Centre and Max Ordman Deaf Association (MODA) residents, this time for Mother’s Day.
Greg arranged for eight women – Sue Gratz, Tracey Lee Perry, Tracey Owgan, Elizabeth Sebilwena, Chantelle Wessels, Doris Pheeha, Michelle Shuda and Gizzelle Uys – to visit the care centre on 12 May, to spend time with residents and treat them to a manicure.
Each resident also received a sweet pack and Greg donated chips, cream and biscuits for everyone to enjoy.
“Our residents loved being pampered! Thank you to Greg and the foundation for making them feel special this Mother’s Day,” says Esme Van der Walt, Thembalami and MODA manager.
Residents and ‘Gogos’ from the Zamokhule outreach programme were also treated to a lovely tea, and encouraging message and prayer; while the Gogos sang a beautiful song for the residents.
“Thank you also to Eleni Giannakopoulos and Dr Kramer from Ampath, for privately donating lovely care packs to our residents. This made their day even more special,” says Esme.
